CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Adventurers both young and old have a new place to explore in Hamilton County.
The Wildwood Playscape at Enterprise South Nature Park is officially open!
It is a three acre playground that is filled with hands-on activities for kids of all ages.
Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp says that this was completely designed and built internally by county employees over the last year and a half, something he says is very rare in county government.
The mayor said, “We’ve got a 3 acre play area here that’s going to win all types of awards and as I said, if we got outside architects and engineers, and then a construction firm to build this, it would have costed taxpayers millions of dollars. The budget on this is very modest because it was it was done in the available time of existing county employees, and it’s a testament again to the people I get to work with every day.”
He adds there will be more announcements coming soon at all county parks, including the newly created McDonald Farm Park.
