CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — As memorial day approaches, the TWRA is urging boaters to be safe.
With the holiday, we can expect more boats than usual on the water.
First time and inexperienced boaters should know the rules before they hit the waves.
The TWRA says drinking and captaining a boat do not mix.
Garrett Long, TWRA Wildlife Officer tells us, “Safe boating starts with sober boating. Always have a designated sober operator on board. Myself, and my counterparts across the state are going to be out working diligently to ensure that no one is operating recklessly or while impaired on our waters.”
Rain is in the forecast for every day this Memorial Day weekend, so check conditions before you head out at WDEF.com/weather
