The Dalton Fire Department (DFD) says they are urging all citizens to refrain from outdoor burning at this time due to current weather conditions.
They say they are seeing an increased risk for wildfires in our area.
Even a small spark can quickly turn into a dangerous situation.
They say outdoor burning is strictly prohibited when the Fire Danger Forecast is at or above a “3”. You can check the current daily rating here
They also remind individuals to never burn on windy days (10 mph or higher) or when it is heavily overcast/cloudy, as smoke will stay low to the ground.
