CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Another Whataburger is now open in the Tennessee Valley.
The Texas-born chain officially opened its second Chattanooga location Monday, March 9, at 2332 Shallowford Village Drive, the former home of Fazoli’s.
Founded in 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas, Whataburger began as a small burger stand with a simple idea: make each meal fresh, customizable, and served with care.
Over the decades, the chain has grown into a national brand with more than 1,100 restaurants across 17 states, while its original recipes are now found in grocery stores nationwide.
The new Chattanooga restaurant blends that long history with a modern design. It features digital menu boards, a spacious dining room, and a state-of-the-art kitchen.
A wall display inside highlights the city, giving the location a local touch.
Operating Partner David Ray will lead a team of about 60 local employees at this location.
The restaurant will initially offer drive-thru service, with dine-in and mobile ordering for pickup and delivery coming later. Breakfast is served overnight from 11 p.m. until 11 a.m.
Fans can expect Whataburger’s made-to-order burgers, signature Fancy and Spicy Ketchup, a variety of shakes, specialty beverages, and limited-time menu offerings.
The opening gives the Chattanooga community another spot to enjoy the chain’s signature flavors 24 hours a day.
