CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Salvation Army welcomes back their newest Area Commander, Captain Johnny Horton.
Capt. Horton and his wife Monica take Major Douglas and Storm McClure’s previous positions as Chattanooga Area Commanders.
While coming from Bowling Green, Ky, this is not the first time Horton has been to Chattanooga. He and his wife return to the Scenic City after being prevoiously stationed here as Lieutenants over 10 years ago.
Now that Horton is back, he looks forward to embracing the mountains and Lake Chickamauga once again. Plus, he’s happy to enjoy some of the city’s best fried chicken again at Champy’s.
During his time of service here, he wants to see Salvation Army to continue being “a light in this dark world.”
Horton encourages for more volunteers to aid in their mission of taking care of everyone and their needs to make a greater and better Chattanooga, as he says, “All hands lift up.”
