CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The McMinn Regional Humane Society is helping local pet owners by hosting a dog food giveaway on Tuesday morning.
Board member Autumn Lowery said the organization regularly provides pet food to the community.
This week’s giveaway, however, will be limited to dog food because of a surplus in donations.
Lowery explained that the shelter is currently at maximum capacity and hopes the giveaway will help families keep their pets at home by easing the financial burden of caring for them.
“It is intended to help members of our community be able to have, feed, and take good care of their pets. We do not want financial barriers to be something that keeps someone from having a happy, healthy pet in their home. We try to help as much as we can.”
The giveaway will take place Tuesday, June 30, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., or while supplies last.
