CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The Iron Man 70.3 Kilometer triathlon starts on Sunday, bright and early.
Friday was check-in day for the competitors at Ironman Village on Riverfront Parkway.
Hundreds of competitors from Chattanooga and beyond came in droves to attend an orientation and purchase gear.
Talking to the competitors, one thing was clear: Everyone loves Chattanooga.
Competitor Julie Padgett tells us, “I’m from Richmond Virginia, but we came back. My husband and my son are competing as well because we love Chattanooga beautiful town. I love the riverfront. I love the bike course. The run along your beautiful pathway is absolutely gorgeous. It’s one of the best we’ve done.”
Be aware: There will be multiple road closures in Chattanooga and Northwest Georgia. Parking will be restricted in areas close to the Tennessee Aquarium.
