Ringgold man sentenced to 55 years in prison for child sex abuse

CATOOSA COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A Ringgold man was recently convicted of several sexual-related charges, including several counts of child molestation.

The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office provided the information regarding the case on Monday, May 6.

They said that 36-year-old Christopher Bean was sentenced to prison for sexually abusing two child victims.

On March 1, 2024, the district attorney’s office said Bean pleaded guilty to aggravated child molestation, child molestation and incest.

For those crimes, Judge Brian House sentenced him to life with the first 25 years to be served in prison.

Another victim came forward, but Bean did not plead guilty to those charges.

A Catoosa County jury then convicted him of those crimes following a three-day trial, which ended on March 20.

The jury found him guilty of aggravated sexual battery, enticing a child for an indecent purpose, and two counts of child molestation.

Then on April 26, Judge House sentenced Bean to life with the first 30 years to be served in prison.

This adds to his previous sentencing. He will serve 55 years total in prison, according to the DA. Bean will be 91 years old when his sentence is over.
