Local Boy Scouts sell MoonPies

RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF)- The Cherokee Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America launched their Shoot for the Moon MoonPie Fundraiser.

Boy Scouts all over the region kicked off their sales today.

Scouts from pack 3177 set up their first shop at Ringgold United Methodist Church.

Kyle Croft, Pack 3177 CubMaster, says, “I really hope that our scouts take away that we need to earn our way in life and everything shouldn’t just be given to you and that’s why we really like doing these fundraisers because it gives them an opportunity to earn their way to get to go to Cub Scout camp or get to be a cub scout for another year. It helps us pay for the awards that they are earning and so, it’s all about earning your way when it comes to scouting.”

You can purchase MoonPies from your local pack from now until October 31st.
