Chattanooga firefighters rescue woman, dog from house fire

UPDATE:

The Chattanooga Fire Department reported that the woman rescued from the house fire has died from her injuries.

They have not yet released her identity.

The fire is still under investigation.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga firefighters rescued a woman who was trapped in a house fire on North Moore Road on Thursday.

The fire department said the woman received life-threatening injuries.

Hamilton County 911 received a call about the fire just after noon. Someone was cutting grass nearby and smelled smoke. They called 911 after seeing the flames in the house.

Once CFD arrived, they started attacking the fire and searched the home. There, they found one person and a dog trapped inside.

First responders then took the woman to a hospital for treatment of her injuries.

North Moore Road was also shut down temporarily while Chattanooga firefighters worked the scene.

Authorities are now investigating to determine what caused the fire.
