Areas of Tennessee Riverpark Closed Due to High Waters

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – Several areas of the Tennessee Riverpark are closed due to high waters. One to two inches of rain rain fell in the area Wednesday morning with more expected throughout the day. This adds to already high rivers and saturated ground from last week’s heavy rains.

The areas closed by the Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department are:

  • Boat ramp and fishing pier at Chickamauga Dam
  • Boat ramp and fishing piers at Hubert Fry Center
  • Kayak launch on the South Chickamauga Creek at Riverpoint
  • Boardwalk at Scrappy Moore Field to the Citico Creek Bridge.
