CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – In partnership with the City of Chattanooga, Hamilton County Parks and Recreation has announced its upcoming “United 250” drone show as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.
The free event is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, and will feature a sky filled with patriotic images designed to honor both the nation’s history and the local community.
Karen Shostak, deputy director of Hamilton County Parks and Recreation, said the celebration marks a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“It means everything,” Shostak said. “We’re never going to see this again. The sky is going to light up, and it’s going to move with a lot of patriotic images to really celebrate 250 years of the community being together, our community here and, of course, the nation as a community as well.”
Organizers say the drone show is intended to bring residents together while commemorating America’s semiquincentennial.
Additional details about the event are expected to be released closer to Independence Day.
