MEIGS, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Saturday evening, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) and the Meigs County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Decatur man in connection to a shooting that resulted in a death.
According to the TBI, law enforcement investigated a shooting that occurred at a residence in the 400 block of Shiloh Road in Decatur.
They say when deputies arrived, they found Jeffery Kendall Barton wounded with an apparent gunshot wound.
Barton was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Law enforcement says the subject responsible for the victim’s death, Tyler Steven Meadows, was arrested and booked into the Meigs County Jail.
He was charged with Second Degree Murder.
