CLEVELAND, TN (WDEF) – Did you ever have a teacher who made you love going to school. For students at Oak Grove Elementary, Alexis Kaczor is that teacher. She goes above and beyond to make every day a fun learning experience. She also keeps parents in the loop every step of the way. All that earned Ms. Kaczor this week’s Golden Apple Award.
“I’m not only a teacher a mother and a wife and it’s one of my biggest joys in life. While I love being a teacher, I recently became a mom last year. She just turned one so, I absolutely adore being a mom and it’s helped me to be a better teacher. My family uh…, I’ve all been teachers as well, so that’s what’s inspired me to also become a teacher,” Alexis Kaczor, 4th Grade Teacher, Oak Grove Elementary School, said.
“What are your thoughts of you and your mom, she’s watched you to become the teacher, like she was a teacher” David Moore, News 12 Chief Photographer, said
“She’s very proud and I’m also I’ve also looked up to her a lot to be the teacher I am today. I am today so I still get advice from her whether it be things in the classroom which she taught high school so it’s a little bit different than elementary school but overall goal goal is to help students and watch them succeed,” Kaczor said.
“Being in this class is kind of simple she made life easy for me. It’s not just for me because first grade through second I just didn’t have autism. It wasn’t just too easy for me. It was hard for my life,” Liam Soto, 4th Grader, oak Grove Elementary School, said.
Liam Soto: But then Ms. Alexis Kaczor is kinda simple. Then these cats came along cats was a very nice teacher when I met her. I thought life wasn’t easy with her, but as soon as we first met, I was like you know what I don’t think. I can make a pretty good deal with her.
Kaczor says, “We don’t know what goes on outside of school but while we’re here with them, we can help them as much as we possibly can. They know they’re cared for. I know that they’re safe here and they know that they’re gonna be fed and well taken care of while thy are learning.”
“It makes me happy to know that not only my goal is to help them learn and succeed, but also that they’re loved. And unfortunately not every kid goes home to that. So I want them to know while they’re here in my classroom with me for the short amount of time that the main goal is that they are loved,” Kaczor continued.
