EAST RIDGE, Tenn. (WDEF) — Numerous residents are displaced following a fire Thursday morning in East Ridge.
The fire occurred shortly before 5 a.m. at the Germantown Gardens complex.
East Ridge Fire Chief Mike Williams says it happened in building 8.
Everyone was able to evacuate safely, and there were no injuries to occupants.
Some pets were unaccounted for.
Chief Williams says the investigation is just beginning:” We see some extinguishers on the second floor, so there was indications that someone was trying to fight the fire. We don’t know if they were trying to fight the fire after they reported it, or before they reported it, so we’ll have to look at those to see if there was a delay in response.”
He does not believe foul play was involved.
The Red Cross was dispatched to help out affected residents.
