CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — Cleveland Police report an arrest after a dramatic confrontation between a bail bondsman and suspects this morning.
They say the bondsman from Cumberland County tried to apprehend Jacob Stoops around 25th Street in Cleveland before noon.
Police say both parties exchanged gunfire.
Witnesses say a black truck blocked traffic.
But when an SUV tried to flee, they fired shots at the tires.
The chase continued on A-P-D 40, but the suspect got away.
However Stoops was later found by Cleveland Police and arrested.
They say the 25th street confrontation is under investigation.
