CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A local man has pleaded guilty to shooting another man who was trying to break up a fight.
The incident happened three years ago at a home on North Germantown Road.
Witnesses say Terrance Smith was in a dispute with another man and pulled a pistol.
But he shot Martin Jackson who stepped in to separate the two men.
Jackson died later at the hospital.
Police had video of him arriving at the home, then fleeing after the shooting.
And then more video of him arriving at a home on Glass Street.
The judge sentenced Smith to serve 18 years in prison.
