CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – October 10th marks World Mental Health Day, a time to pause, reflect, and remind us that mental well-being is just as vital as physical health.
Parkridge Health System is using this day to highlight the importance of open conversations and provide the Chattanooga community with essential mental health resources.
The annual observance is more than just a date on the calendar, it’s a call to action.
The goal is to break stigma, foster compassion, and make sure no one feels alone in their struggles.
Farlie Chastain, Vice President of Clinical Services at Parkridge Valley, shared a heartfelt message about why seeking help matters.
“Mental health problems, depression, anxiety, really rob you of the satisfaction of life. It is extremely important, if you begin having issues, if you’re having concerns or troubles, seek help. It’s okay to get professional help.”
Parkridge Valley offers a variety of programs and services to guide individuals toward healing and balance.
From counseling to crisis support, their mission is to provide compassionate care to anyone in need.
If you or someone you know is facing a mental health crisis, call or text 9-8-8 to be connected with 24/7 confidential support.
