TRENTON, Ga. (WDEF)- Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger made a stop in Dade County Friday morning.
He spoke at an Alliance for Dade breakfast event at their historic courthouse in Trenton.
He discussed how the state of Georgia is looking to recruit more manufacturers across the state, including rural Northwest Georgia.
He also talked about how he is pleased with the efficiency of the 2024 elections in Georgia.
Secretary Raffensperger says one item he plans to push next year in the Georgia Legislature is easing license requirements for Georgia professionals such as cosmetologists.
He said, “If you move here to Georgia and have a license from another state, how can we move you to the front of the line, to streamline that so you can start working right away? That’s really important for military spouses, but it’s important for a lot of spouses that get transferred here because their other spouse gets work here, but now they want to work here too with a license. So we need to streamline that for people coming to Georgia. Make sure it’s business friendly, and looking forward to how we can help small business owners.”
We asked Secretary Raffensperger if he plans to announce his plans following the conclusion of his term after next year.
He told us he is focused on finishing his time as Secretary of State strong.
