RINGGOLD, GA (WDEF) – Families are still recovering from the flash floods that swept through just a couple of weeks ago, leaving homes and lives turned upside down.
In response, the Chamber of Commerce has launched a major relief effort, extending its donation drive through the end of the week.
The list of needed items is wide-ranging but focused on essentials: protein-packed foods like peanut butter, canned tuna, and chicken, as well as mattresses, diapers, and other baby supplies.
These items will go directly toward helping families rebuild some sense of normalcy in the weeks following the disaster.
What makes this relief effort stand out is the way the community has responded.
Organizers say that right after the flood, local restaurants, businesses, and neighbors immediately stepped forward, donating what they could and rallying others to do the same.
That momentum has continued, with donations pouring in from across the county.
Leaders with the Chamber say this drive isn’t just about meeting material needs, it’s about showing families that they aren’t alone.
Every box of food and every mattress donated sends a message of support, reminding flood victims that their community is behind them.
Donations can be dropped off at the Chamber of Commerce through Friday between 8AM-5PM.
Organizers say the need is still great, but they are encouraged by the generosity that has already poured in.
