CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga is rolling out the welcome mat for more than 250 outdoor writers, photographers, and media professionals as the city hosts the 2025 Outdoor Writers Association of America Conference.
The Scenic City will serve as a launchpad for adventure, with attendees experiencing world-class rock climbing, hiking, biking, and paddling opportunities just minutes from downtown.
The conference is headquartered at The Read House, with receptions planned at the Chattanooga Choo Choo and after-hours events hosted by local partners like Teren Clothing.
Pre- and post-conference tours will showcase everything from Lookout Mountain Flight Park to the Tennessee Aquarium, Chattanooga Zoo, and Reflection Riding Arboretum.
The event isn’t just about exploration, it’s also about connection.
Writers will take part in workshops, panels, and networking sessions, while getting firsthand experience with the outdoor culture that has earned Chattanooga national recognition as a premier adventure destination.
The gathering is expected to generate hundreds of thousands of dollars in economic impact.
But its influence goes far beyond the numbers, with stories, photos, and broadcasts from attendees expected to reach millions of outdoor enthusiasts across the country.
