Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga firefighters were busy this morning dealing with a hazardous materials call.
It happened in the 1800 block of Southern Street at around 8:45.
Firefighters say there was a small hazmat spill involving nitric acid at the facility.
The building was evacuated, and the department’s hazmat unit was able to clean up the spill without much issue.
Department officials say Hazmat 1, Battalion 1, Special Ops, Squad 1, Engine 1, Ladder 1, and Ladder 5 responded to the scene.
