CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Preparatory School kicked off the new school year with a powerful tradition known as the Chattanooga 300 Walk.
Students walked into the building this morning to the sound of applause and cheers, as parents and staff lined the sidewalks in a show of support.
Chris Sands, Parent of Chatt Prep Student, told News 12 that “It’s not just a new image being painted. This is a new legacy that’s being forged and that’s exactly what we’re seeing right now with these young people about to do some amazing things and they’re gonna shock the world.”
The walk is a symbolic tradition at Chatt Prep, designed to motivate students, celebrate their return, and instill a sense of pride and unity from the very first day.
The annual event highlights the school’s focus on character, leadership, and academic growth.
Staff say they’re committed to creating a learning environment where students feel supported and confident as they take on new challenges.
Colin Richardson & Camper Coulter, 2025 Chatt Prep Graduates, commented on the annual walk stating that they “think it’s a positive because obviously you know Chatt Prep had its fair share of struggles and parents probably feel a lot more comfortable and a lot better and a lot more supportive now that they’ve kind of just got a new a lot of new staff and just a lot of new opportunities for the kids”
With the school year now underway, leaders say this first step sets the tone for a strong and successful year ahead.
