DEKALB COUNTY, Al. (WDEF) — A man wanted out of Mobile, Alabama was arrested in DeKalb County after authorities found him living in a local church.
On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) received report hat Christopher Keith Nichelson was living in a local church.
Nichelson had arrest warrants out of Mobile for First Degree Sodomy, First Degree Rape, and sex abuse of a child less than twelve.
DCSO deputies responded to the church and found Nichelson sitting in his vehicle.
He told authorities that his name was Kevin, but after confirming his identity, he was arrested.
The church he was living in was fully cooperative and not involved in hiding him from law enforcement.
The church said they were unaware that he was wanted.
DCSO said he was not around children during the time he was living at the church.
