HAMILTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — One person is dead after a car ended up in the Tennessee River.
On Friday, July 18, 2025, around 12:00 p.m., Hamilton County 911 receive a call about a car that had left the roadway and went into the Tennessee River.
Four Hamilton County deputies responded to the scene shortly after the call.
Upon arrival, the deputies entered the water and located the submerged vehicle.
The deputies attempted to gain access to the vehicle, but were unsuccessful.
Hamilton County STARS, Dallas Bay Fire and Rescue, and the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department all responded to assist on scene.
Hamilton County Sheriff Austin Garrett confirmed that one person died from this incident.
Sheriff Garrett also said more information will be released as the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) continues to investigate the cause of the incident.
