CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Local construction workers partnered with the Habitat for Humanity to build a family of six a new home.
Nine workers from the Chattanooga branch of AFS Foundation and Waterproofing worked on the Rawlings Street home in Avondale.
They say this is something the company likes to do every year to help give back to the community.
They spent today erecting the walls of the home that will one day allow that will give that family a new life.
“This home in particular, probably looking at a two thousand square foot home for a family of six and I think this is one of the biggest builds for the last couple of the years. I know this neighborhood is really excited to make a home for a family like that. I know there’s a lot of kids looking forward to having future playmates,” said AFS Chattanooga’s General Manager, James Such.
Other organizations will also assist to help complete the home over the next few weeks.
