DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – In Dalton, protesters gathered once again in front of Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s office, this time to voice opposition to the Big Beautiful Bill.
Demonstrators held signs, chanted, and called for change, expressing frustration and concern over the legislation.
The event’s organizer, Armida Vicente, said she believes the bill doesn’t just target undocumented immigrants and asylum seekers—but has broader implications that threaten the rights of all individuals.
“We’re here, and we don’t care who you voted for. At the end of the day, this is about humanity. It’s not about politics,” Vicente said. “Our constitutional rights are being stripped away from us. And if you love America—if you know what America stands for—then you know what’s happening around us is not what this country represents.
I hope people take the time to truly learn what the Constitution of the United States stands for. Because what we’re seeing now, the violations, the fear—none of that is constitutional.”
The protest lasted from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and remained peaceful throughout.
