WALKER COUNTY, Ga. (WDEF) — A Walker County woman was sentenced for trafficking fentanyl.
On June 5, 2024, the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit (LMJC) Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Mary Louis Harvey’s residence after gathering credible evidence of drug activity.
She allowed agents to search her bedroom, where fentanyl-laced materials were found hidden in a dresser.
According to the Lookout Mountain District Attorney’s Office, 11 grams of fentanyl was seized.
After a forensic review of her phone, agents uncovered messages that were consistent with ongoing drug deals.
Harvey was charged with and pled guilty to Trafficking Fentanyl.
She received a 20 year sentence, with the first 5 years to be served behind bars.
“If you’re trafficking fentanyl in Walker County, get ready for prison because that’s where you belong when you are pushing that poison into our communities. Fentanyl kills, and we are done playing games with those who profit from it. Thanks to the DTF, another trafficker is off the streets.”
