DEKALB COUNTY, Al. (WDEF) — Two people have been arrested after stealing wakeboards from a broken down boat in DeKalb County.
On June 23, 2025, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) received information from the Fyffe Police Department (FPD) about someone that had two wakeboards stolen from his boat while it was broken down on County Road 400 on June 12.
The victim also told authorities he had seen his wakeboards listed for sale on Facebook Market Place.
DCSO and FPD responded to where the wakeboards were for sale and observed them beside the porch of a residence.
According to DCSO, Jake Ryan Carter admitted to stealing the boards and was later arrested.
His wife, Kristie Nicole Carter, was also arrested from receiving stolen property.
Kristie knew the wakeboards were stolen, and was the person who listed them for sale on Facebook Market Place.
Authorities also recovered other stolen property, and is working to return the items to the owner.
