A 34-year-old Dalton woman has pleaded guilty to felony murder after a man was stabbed 61 times.
Requiya Kierra Reynolds pled guilty to the murder of Michael Cronan.
An agent testified that a 911 call was placed to the Whitfield County 911 center on October 1, 2025 stating that a woman was near the Dawnville Dollar General and she was involved in a homicide, according to the Office of Conasauga Circuit District Attorney Benjamin Kenemer.
They say the 911 caller was Reynold’s husband who had received a phone call and text message from her stating that she killed Cronan.
Reynolds had been staying with Cronan for a short period of time when the incident occurred.
The agent interviewed Reynolds after she was arrested and she admitted to stabbing Cronan repeatedly.
Cronan was seated in a reclining chair in the living room when Reynolds attacked him. The agent testified that Cronan was stabbed sixty-one times and his throat was slit twice.
A knife was recovered after a search of the surrounding area.
Kenemer recommended a sentence of life in prison with the possibility of parole and told Judge Poston that Cronan’s son was consulted on the plea agreement.
They say Judge Poston accepted the sentencing recommendation and granted the dismissal of a second murder charge, malice murder, because Reynolds pied guilty to felony murder.
The G.B.I assisted the Whitfield County Sheriff’s office in conducting the investigation.
