CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — Brian Smith has been selected as the interim administrator of the Department of Parks and Outdoors.
Mayor Tim Kelly selected Smith, who currently serves as the communications director and interim deputy administrator.
Smith has worked for the city for the past three years as well.
He replaces April Furth, who will depart as administrator on February 20.
“I want to thank April Furth for her service to the residents of Chattanooga. Selecting Brian Smith as interim administrator was a no-brainer. He’s done a phenomenal job ushering in Chattanooga as North America’s first National Park City and will continue to oversee the visions set before him.”
