CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Sunday, around 3:35 a.m. the Chattanooga Police Department (CPD) responded to a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a fatality.
According to CPD, police responded to 181 Interstate 24-E for a single-vehicle crash and vehicle fire.
They say evidence shows the vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail, causing the vehicle to rotate.
It was then redirected into a tree and came to a final rest against a fence.
The vehicle ignited, and the driver was unable to be rescued and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Chattanooga Fire Department (CFD) extinguished the fire, and the identity of the driver is unknown at this time.
