Chattanooga, TN (WDEF)- More than 160 families across Chattanooga are getting a little extra brightness this holiday season thanks to Unum’s annual Holiday Cheer gift drive.
Two full semi-trucks packed with gifts rolled out of Unum’s campus Thursday morning, escorted by police as they made their way to local agencies. The presents will go to families staying at Partnership’s domestic violence shelter, as well as other community organizations.
Rachel Hargis, from Unum’s Corporate Social Responsibility team, said the collaboration makes a big impact.
“This partnership is an organization with such a big footprint. It’s a great way for their great organization for us to partner with as a way to touch lots of areas of the community without employees having to go out and do the research on their own. They know that they can trust Partnership,” Hargis said.
This year marks the 26th anniversary of the Holiday Cheer drive, and organizers say they hope to continue expanding the program each year, helping more families throughout the Chattanooga community.
