Faith Community Wesleyan Church is inviting families to gather for a free outdoor movie night on November 30th, transforming their parking lot into a cozy space for fellowship as the Advent season begins.
November 30th marks the first day of Advent—four weeks of reflection, anticipation, and celebration leading up to the birth of Jesus. Church leaders say starting the season with a family-friendly event offers the community a meaningful way to come together before the busyness of December begins.
Pastor Katie Lawrence says the goal is to provide a safe, welcoming environment for families and children.
“Things that families and children have to kind of avoid—families don’t want to expose children to things that are scarier, things that are hard to understand,” Lawrence said. “So we want to offer a safe alternative that families can trust. It’s going to be a good movie for their kids and a great time for their family. They don’t have to worry about any kind of content they’re trying to avoid.”
The church encourages families to bring chairs, blankets, and friends. The event is free and open to everyone in the community, offering a simple and meaningful way to enter the Advent season together.
