Major Douglas McClure joins News 12’s Amelia Greer as the holiday season kicks off in Chattanooga.
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – The season of giving is here and The Salvation Army will be hosting a Christmas Kickoff this Thursday, Nov. 6th at Hamilton Place Mall!
Both the Angel Tree Program and Red Kettle Campaign starts on Thursday which benefits children and families in need during the holidays.
Families can adopt children from the Angel Tree to help provide a child Christmas gifts. The Angel Tree tags will have all the information needed to purchases gifts for the child, including clothing sizes. For some children, this is the only time they receive new clothing for the upcoming year.
The program is for children 12 and younger and seniors 60 and older.
The Red Kettle Campaign helps raise funds for The Salvation Army to continue their efforts to help those in need during hardships.
