Wreaths Across Chattanooga
Honoring Every Hero. Remembering Every Sacrifice.
The mission of Wreaths Across Chattanooga is to ensure that every veteran laid to rest at the Chattanooga National Cemetery is honored with a wreath each December.
For 2025, Wreaths Across Chattanooga Day will be held on Saturday, December 13th.
We are an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and 100% of all donations go directly toward the purchase of wreaths — there are no paid staff or administrative costs.
Over the past two years, we’ve proudly placed a wreath on nearly every one of the 49,000 graves at the Chattanooga National Cemetery. Each wreath remains in place for about 30 days before being respectfully retired in January.
Our mission is built around three guiding principles:
-
REMEMBER – All Chattanooga-area veterans who served our country.
-
HONOR – The lives of those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice.
-
TEACH – The value of freedom and the importance of those who protect it.
Through this annual tradition, we strive to connect “The Greatest Generations” with “The Generation of Hope.”
Community Involvement
“Wreaths Across Chattanooga” would not be possible without the dedication of hundreds of volunteers, families, and local organizations.
Since 2006, our community has come together each December to place wreaths on every gravestone — a moving display of unity, gratitude, and remembrance.
Volunteers also return in January to assist with the “Retiring of the Wreaths,” a day devoted to respectfully removing each wreath and preserving the dignity of the grounds.
