RINGGOLD, Ga. (WDEF) — Heritage High School administrators had gotten a report that a student was possibly violating the student code of conduct for vaping.
This led to the school resource officer and administrators to investigate the student’s vehicle, which was parked on school property.
Upon searching, they discovered restricted contraband inside the vehicle.
Catoosa County Public Schools says the Sheriff’s report indicates that weapons were found, but no firearms were among them.
Additionally, no weapons were brought into the school building.
The student was arrested on site and will face disciplinary consequences aligning with the Catoosa County Schools Student Code of Conduct, as well as the legal consequences.
Catoosa County Public Schools affirms that they are fully committed to ensuring student and staff safety, praising the actions of the school administrators and school resource officer.

Catoosa County Public Schools says that any behavior that presents a potential risk of danger will always be investigated thoroughly and addressed in compliance with district policy and Georgia law.
