SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — On October 1st, the Dunlap Fire Department responded to an accident where a semi-truck had flipped over on Highway 111 Northbound not far from the East Valley Road exit.
The driver was uninjured, but was unable to exit the cab of the semi-truck.
Firefighters on the scene used a reciprocating saw to remove the sun shade and windshield so the driver could escape from the cab.
The truck itself was pulling a refrigerated box trailer carrying milk, which Sequatchie County Emergency Management Agency Director Brian Rhueling had noted milk leaking from the trailer.
The driver was transported to Erlanger Sequatchie Emergency Room by Puckett Emergency Medical Services.
The Tennessee Department Of Transportation have closed the right lane of Highway 111 for the time being.
