CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A woman is dead after a fatal multi-vehicle crash near Hixson Thursday afternoon.
It happened just before 2:30 p.m. in the 7000 block of Middle Valley Road.
Hamilton County deputies responded to the serious crash involving five vehicles.
Their investigation indicates Heather Haynes was traveling northbound when her vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and hit a pickup truck nearly head-on.
The wreck caused additional collisions and damage to other vehicles.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.
