CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Chattanooga’s newest music festival has kicked off.
The International Bluegrass Music Association’s World of Bluegrass Festival is this week in Chattanooga.
A mix of performances, industry discussions, and an awards show headline the activities across the city.
The festival was announced last year as the festival was previously held in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The hope is that this is the beginning of a long partnership between the city and the IBMA.
Chattanooga Tourism Company President and CEO Barry White said, “I think our music scene has been elevated a lot just in my time here, and I think this will take it to the next step. Yes, anything that brings in additional music opportunities, and opportunities for people to listen to music continues to grow.”
