HARRISON, Tenn. (WDEF) – On Sunday, just before 1a.m., the Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department was alerted to an automatic fire alarm in a residence in the 7100 block of Bramlett Lane in Harrison.
When arriving on scene, units responded to smoke in the residence.
According to Emergency Management, first responders knocked on the door, but there was no answer, and crews had to use forced entry into the home.
They say that when inside, they located a smoldering fire on the stove and found the homeowner unresponsive in the home.
The homeowner was removed from the home and provided medical care by fire personnel until EMS arrived.
Hamilton County EMS transported the homeowner to the hospital in good condition.
There was no further fire spread or extension to the residence.
The smoke was ventilated from the home, and the home was secured before fire units returned to service.
The total damage was contained to a pot on the stove and some small cooking materials next to the stove.
