CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – This Saturday, September 6, Chattanooga’s own Levi Darr will be featured on the bright screens of Times Square during the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual video presentation.
The one-hour showcase includes more than 500 photographs of children, teens, and adults with Down syndrome from all 50 states and 11 countries.
Levi’s photo was selected from more than 2,600 entries and will appear on two Jumbotron screens above Dos Caminos in Father Duffy Square.
The presentation is made possible through support from ClearChannel Outdoor.
The livestream runs on the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) Facebook page from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Eastern on Saturday.
The event serves as the kickoff to the New York City Buddy Walk®, which takes place at the Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park.
Levi is the youngest of seven siblings, affectionately known as “lucky #7.”
His mom shares their journey online through Instagram @luckydarrs, where nearly 50,000 followers follow stories of family life, awareness, and advocacy.
Her candid posts, viewed and shared millions of times, highlight both the challenges and the joy that Levi brings to their family.
Since 1995, the Buddy Walk® program has promoted inclusion and raised awareness nationwide, with more than 150 walks now taking place in cities across the country and abroad.
