CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Chattanooga police responded to a report of a person shot this morning.
The call was made on South Market Street near Alton Park just before 9:00 a.m.
Two individuals were seen by a neighbor being placed in cuffs.
Police at the scene told us that occupants of two vehicles exchanged gunfire.
One vehicle sped away, while the other was ditched near West 28th Street.
Police say two people inside the ditched vehicle were shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The victims were taken to Erlanger Hospital for further treatment.
There were four total occupants in that vehicle.
A K-9 unit was deployed to search for any weapons which may have been dumped.
South Market near the railroad overpass was briefly closed while the police conducted their investigation.
