CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – A new report from River City Company shows downtown Chattanooga thriving across retail, office, hospitality, and residential sectors.
Over the past year, 23 new businesses have opened, from shops and boutiques to restaurants, helping create a vibrant downtown scene.
Retail vacancy is just 2.7%, below the national average, while office space occupancy is 93.6%, boosted by major employers like TVA and Unum bringing employees back to offices.
The hospitality sector is also growing, with rising hotel rates and over 650 new rooms under construction to accommodate more visitors and events.
Downtown remains affordable, with rents below the national average and single-family homes selling quickly.
“Having a healthy and diverse retail corridor in downtown provides opportunities for visitors and locals to explore our vibrant community,” said Emily Mack, CEO of River City Company.
