CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- Hamilton County Sheriff Austin Garrett has named a new leader over jail operations.
He has named Tim Davis as the new Deputy Chief of Corrections for the Sheriff’s Office.
Chief Davis most recently served as Assistant Sheriff in Santa Clara County, California, where he managed the fifth largest jail system in the Golden State.
He will oversee the operations at the Hamilton County Jail.
Chief Davis outlined what his primary goals are to ensure those operations are smooth.
He said, “We certainly want to make sure the inmates have a safe environment to focus on their issues as well as the staff having enough staffing to make sure they have an environment to operate safely. Ideally, we want our staff to be safe and go home.”
Wednesday is his first day on the job.
