MEIGS COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Two parks in Meigs County are expected to receive state funding to upgrade a local park.
Representative Dan Howell announced that $97,500 of state funding will go to upgrading Ten Mile Park and Georgetown’s Eastview Park.
The grant is being administered by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) through the Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF).
The LPRF funds were approved by members of the 114th General Assembly in the state 2025-2026 state budget.
“Meigs County’s natural beauty and friendly atmosphere make it an exceptional place to live, work and raise a family. This significant grant will be used to enhance Ten Mile Park and Eastview Park into areas that all residents and visitors can enjoy. I’m grateful to the local leaders who worked diligently to secure this funding and I look forward to the completion of these projects.”
