CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is welcoming a Golden Eagle turned Moc to the Scenic City.
Dr. Lori Mann Bruce joins the university as the 19th chancellor and first woman to ever hold the position.
She was approved by the UT Board of Trustees in May and formally joined the school at the end of June.
Her appointment to the role brings innovation and ambitious goals for the university.
The new chancellor is looking to boost student enrollment to 15,000 students by 2030.
The campus currently hosts a little under 12,000.
Dr. Bruce comes to Chattanooga from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville.
She was the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Tech for several years.
Her career in total masses over 30 years of administrative experience in higher education.
