CLEVELAND, Tenn. (WDEF) — A major transformation is underway at the Cleveland Family YMCA.
On Monday, July 21, the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga officially broke ground on a $5-million renovation project at its Cleveland location.
The upgrades are part of the organization’s five-year capital campaign, Vision 2028: Let’s Grow! focused on expanding programs, modernizing facilities, and meeting the growing needs of the community.
The groundbreaking ceremony took place outside the YMCA on Urbane Road and drew a crowd of local leaders, donors, volunteers, and community members.
Attendees heard remarks from YMCA officials, city leaders, and community advocates before shovels hit the ground and tours of the renovation plans were offered.
The Cleveland Family YMCA has long served as a central hub for youth development, healthy living, and community engagement in Bradley County.
Leaders say the renovations will include updated facilities, new program areas, and improved accessibility, ensuring the Y can better serve local families for generations to come.
Construction is set to begin immediately, with updates planned to roll out in phases over the coming year.
