RINGGOLD, GA (WDEF) – LIFT Youth Center is getting a creative boost thanks to a new grant from Georgia Council for the Arts.
The nonprofit, which offers free afterschool programs to middle and high schoolers in Catoosa County, has been awarded an Arts Education Program Grant for 2026.
It’ll help expand their LIFT Art Lab, which provides free workshops where students explore painting, photography, and more.
Chrissie Brown, LIFT Youth Development Director, told News 12 that “provide funding to pay for the art teacher who’s coming to teach the class it’s also going to help with art supplies just going to help our students build critical life skills, enhance confidence and build upon artistic skills and techniques in a way that we’ve never been able to do before.”
LIFT serves nearly four hundred students a year and plans to reach six hundred with a new location opening soon in Fort Oglethorpe.
Leaders say the grant will empower students to build confidence, express themselves, and develop skills that last a lifetime.
