SODDY DAISY, Tenn. (WDEF) – The City of Soddy-Daisy is closing out the holiday weekend with a full day of family-friendly festivities at the Soddy Lake Recreation Complex.
The day kicked off with a solemn ceremony at the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall, where the community paid tribute to those who served and sacrificed.
From there, things shifted into celebration mode with a classic car show, fire truck exhibits, cornhole tournaments, and a dunk tank raising funds for Soddy-Daisy High School’s Trojan Fund.
Children enjoyed free activities like rock painting, sidewalk chalk, and bubbles, while dozens of vendors and food trucks offered plenty of local flavor and handmade goods.
And for those looking to blow off a little steam, a neighboring auto shop invited attendees to take a swing at an old car with a sledgehammer, adding a smashing good time to the celebration.
The music lineup began at 4 p.m. and featured local favorites across gospel, country, and rock leading into a grand fireworks finale that lit up the sky above Soddy Lake.
From tributes to veterans to fireworks over the water, the event delivered a full day of red, white, and wow.
City leaders said the event was about more than celebration, it was a chance to bring the community together and honor what Independence Day truly stands for.
